Stuart Broad likely to skip India tour for sore shoulder – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SCJ-Broad-c2465, the ace English pacer and skipper of the Twenty20 wing, is likely to miss Team England’s upcoming tour to India as his shoulder injury will not permit him to bowl for the next two months. However, the youngster is hopeful of returning to the
ring against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755, later this year.
Broad is not happy with this fateful situation as he wants to continue playing, rather than being a spectator.
The lanky pacer has revealed that his aching muscle will take at least two months to recover, but he believes that his ouster from the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 series is still not cent percent sure.
Talking to the media, Broad said, “The shoulder is still quite sore. It's a two-month injury so I'm concentrating on making sure I am in the best possible shape for the games against Pakistan in January. It's not 100% confirmed I'll not play in India but
I'll only play if the rehab goes fantastically well.”
However, Broady is pleased to have learnt that he is not going to undergo any surgery. He told, “It's good news that I don't need surgery. There is always an extra risk with surgery so that would be a worry.”
The fast bowler was injured during the Poms’ fourth home ODI against India, on September 11 at Lord’s, subsequently having to sit out the final One Dayer and two subsequent T20Is against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760.
In the absence of Broad, the specialist English spinner, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/GP-Swann-c1501, is going to lead the team in the 1st T20I against West Indies today, September 23 at The Oval.
The English are scheduled to visit India in October this year to play 5 ODIs and a one-off T20I, which are expected to test the true mettle of the Poms.
Broad performed very well during the 4-Test npower series against the Men in Blue, earning himself the ‘Man of the Series’ award.
The 25-year-old has played 41 Test, 84 ODI and 31 T20I games since his International debut in 2006.
