England’s star bowler, Stuart Broad, recently revealed that it was the pacer’s return to County cricket which groomed him into a disciplined bowler; something that England required. The spearhead came out with the statement following the recently concluded
Test series against the Indian tourists, where http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 marked a landmark 4-0 win against the visitors, coupled with Broad earning the ‘Man of the Series’ title.
The reason for Broad standing out as the player of the competition was his exceptional run throughout the series, both with the bat and ball.
In the 4 Test matches, the pacer earned 25 wickets and scored 182 runs with the bat, including a century as well as a half ton.
“It has been a very special summer. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 came here and we were very aware of the talent they had, especially in their batting unit. The bowlers were very clued up and did a lot of work before the series, about where we wanted to bowl at these guys. There
is a lot of footage because they have played so much cricket, so we had a meeting before the Lord's Test about how we wanted to bowl at them, and looking back over the series, those plans worked very well”, said Broad.
Broad also appreciated the other English bowlers, who alongside Broad, delivered significant performances for the side, and played a pivotal role in England’s eventual win on the series.
As for the current affair, one may commend the young pacer for making a remarkable comeback following a sluggish bowling display at the recent home series against the Sri Lankans.
With just a minor tally of 8 wickets throughout the event, Broad was even left out from the final One Day International (ODI) against the Lankan tourists, where Jade Dernbach took over his spot.
As a result, alongside team-mate and fellow pacer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TT-Bresnan-c2711, Broad was forced into heading back to County cricket in order to battle out the selection.
Broad, who also had an adequate backing from England’s coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nottinghamshire-c826, where the pacer left no reason for the selectors to ignore him in the playing XI for the national side.
