Stuart Broad ruled out of the Ashes

The England fast bowler Stuart Broad who has served as the lead pace bowler for England along with James Anderson has been ruled out of the rest of the Ashes tests, due to torn abdominal muscles the team officials said today.
Broad landed himself with a stomach injury on the fourth day of the second Adelaide test. He however did return after to field after tea on Monday.
A spokesman for the England team said that Broad will head back home to start the period of rehabilitation and recovery so that he is fit in time for the 2011 World Cup in South Asia that is supposed to start in February.
"Stuart has a torn abdominal muscle and as such will take no further part in the current Ashes tour of Australia. Given the nature of the injury Stuart has been ruled out of the forthcoming ODI series (in January) against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 as well. Stuart will return
to England shortly to commence a rehabilitation programme and we expect him to make a full recovery in time for the World Cup next year," England team doctor Nick Peirce said in a statement.
The 24 year old fast bowler who has proved to be a real asset for the England side has said that he is devastated due to injury as he was really looking forward to contribute to a major Ashes win for his country. He said that playing an Ashes series in Australia
has been a lifelong dream for him and to see that dream coming to an abrupt end was painful.
He said he was looking forward to playing a leading role to help his country win the Ashes, however that could not be. It is expected that Stuart Broad will be replaced by Chris Tremlett or http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ajmal-Shahzad-c42489 for the third test of the Ashes that begins in Perth
on the 16th of December.
Broad said, that now he will have to shift his entire focus on the 2011 world cup and hopes he will be fit in time to play for his country again.
