Stuart Broad to play for Nottinghamshire Cricket County Club until 2013 – England domestic cricket
England fast bowler Stuart Broad has signed a new three-year contract with Nottinghamshire Cricket County Club, which will keep the lanky fast bowler with the side until the end of the 2013 season.
Broad is also contracted by the England and Wales Cricket Broad. However, his relationship with Nottinghamshire County will not come in his way to play international cricket.
Director of Cricket of Nottinghamshire Mick Newell understands that Broad is an important member of the England team and he cannot take part in the complete season. However, the fast bowler has performed brilliantly in the little cricket he has so far played
for the County.
Newell said, “We knew he was in the England selectors' thoughts when we signed him in 2008 and although his county appearances have been limited, he has always performed exceptionally well when he's turned out for us.”
The 24-year-old fast bowler started his cricket from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Leicestershire-c807 but moved to Nottinghamshire in 2008 when he was given a lucrative offer by the County officials.
Newell stated that he is expecting Broad to maintain his place in the England team in all the formats of the game for many more years to come but the tall fast bowler will play for Nottinghamshire whenever he is not busy with international duties.
“We fully expect that Stuart will maintain his place in the England team for years to come but this contract re-affirms his commitment to Nottinghamshire,” the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nottinghamshire-c826 Director of Cricket added.
Broad has been a permanent member of the English cricket team for the past four years in both limited overs cricket as well as in the longer version of the game. He is the spearhead of the English bowling attack along with James Anderson.
He has played 34 Test matches for England so far in which he has taken 99 wickets at an average of 35.24 runs per wicket. On top of that, he is more than useful with the bat and has scored one hundred and five half-centuries in Test cricket.
