The former Australian pacer, Stuart Clark, is in the run to become the Chief Executive of one of Sydney's two Big Bash League teams. However, he was also eager to represent http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-South-Wales-c823 as a player in next cricket season.
To represent one of the new city-based teams, the 35-year old player has been in dialogue for the Chief Executive position.
The former international coach http://www.senore.com/Cricket/John-Dyson-c67699 is also in the list of frontrunners. Both players have a fair chance to get the appointment, joining NSW cricket later this month.
Clark must decide whether he wants to extend his on-field career or to take charge of Sydney’s two Twenty20 sides, the Thunders and the Sixers, for the next season.
While talking to local media, Clark stated, "I'm leaning towards playing cricket at the moment, there's no personal goals left. I'm lucky enough to have done pretty much everything in cricket that I wanted to.”
However Clark seems to be considering both options, he also stated, "As much as I love playing cricket, there's also life after cricket and what I want to do with life. It's a tremendous opportunity; I'll never shirk away from that. One of these Big Bash
teams - I suppose that's the future of cricket and gives me an opportunity to be involved and involved at the highest level."
Clark has been a valuable player for the Aussies and he is an attractive option for the young NSW team. Clark performed well in the last edition when Simon Katich was not available to perform his duties.
Having played 22 domestic Twenty20 matches so far, Clark has taken 31 wickets, setting his average at 16.25 with best bowling figures of 4 for 20.
However in Test cricket, the right-arm fast bowler has scalped 94 with an average of 23.86 with best bowling figures of 5 for 32.
He has six 4-wicket hauls and two 5-wicket ones in his International Test Career.
Clark has featured in 39 One Day International matches with 53 wickets to his name at an average of 27.86. He has two 4-wicket hauls in his ODI career.
