Stuart Gillett takes reins of Goodwood in his hands
Stuart Gillett has taken charge of Goodwood Golf Club as the general manager.
Gillett is known for his innovation in golf management and this time, he has decided to take Goodwood Golf Club to new heights.
Gillett confirmed the news in a press conference and said, “I’m a great believer in high customer service and feel that developing relationships with members, guests and employees is an important element of my role. I was really impressed with the credit
membership at Goodwood, ensuring Golf at Goodwood is affordable and accessible to all. I’m keen to build on Goodwood’s reputation in golf and its ambience and services, and work closely with the course management team”.
The University of Wales graduate successfully completed his term at Heythrop Park Resort, which is located in Oxfordshire. During his stay, he established a sports complex for the Berks, Bucks, and Oxfordshire teams for 2011. The complex had distinctive
training facilities, which helped in grooming the local talent.
Moreover, he held various meetings with the European Tour for a seniors’ tournament, which turned out to be successful. Apart from that, he was accredited for inaugurating £5m Oxfordshire facility and for bringing the world’s most affluent pro-am tournament,
The Invitational in Dubai, to the European tour circuit.
Before coming to Oxfordshire, he served as a general manager at Mill Ride Golf Club in Berkshire and deputy general manager at Bearwood Lakes Golf Club.
Gillett shares a passion for sport and it is quite evident from his innovative strategies, which he has been introducing to the golf facility, to enhance customer experience. His love for sport can be seen from his career chart, which shows a shift from
an entertainment industry to sport.
Gillett initially worked as a senior executive with the Braningans, but quit and took over as a resort manager in Meribel.
The passion and the dedication have bought him to Goodwood Golf Club, which is already rated in the top 100 golf courses in the world. Gillett’s presence in the club will not only take the club to new heights, but also make it the hub of championships.
