Stuart Holden signs new deal at Bolton Wanderers
Bolton Wanderers midfielder Stuart Holden has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the English Premier League club until 2013.
The 25-year-old told the club’s official website that he was delighted to be staying at Bolton under manager Owen Coyle.
“I love being here. I couldn't be around better fans, management staff and players. I was given a chance by manager Owen Coyle to show I can play at this level, and I'm extremely grateful."
Holden joined Bolton from Houston Dynamo in January on a short-term deal, but only made one appearance in the league last season before breaking his leg while playing for the United States in a friendly against Holland in March.
He has since recovered from the injury to make the starting line-up in all of Bolton’s EPL matches and win a new contract as a result of his good form.
“I had a bit of a setback with the injury last season, but that made me more determined to make an impact when I came back for pre-season. I've had a good start to this campaign and I'm looking forward to continuing playing and helping Bolton as much as
I possibly can.”
Holden added that he believes Bolton can make big leaps forward in the coming years, and that was a big factor in helping him to make the decision to extend his contract.
"I think the gaffer has brought a confidence to the club and a belief that we can play against the top teams in the Premier League. With the players that he has brought in and the players that were here already then I believe that we can do special things
in the coming seasons."
