Bangladesh’s coach, Stuart Law, has appreciated the brilliant knock of Mushfiqur Rahim against Zimbabwe, in the 3rd fixture of the 5-match One Day International series at Harare Sports Club.
Despite Bangladesh’s defeat, Mushfiqur played magnificently against the home team, scoring 101 runs on 100 balls with the help of 8 fours and a sixer.
While chasing the target of 251 runs, the Bengali batsmen failed to put up a fight against the bowling side; however, the wicket keeper batsman, Mushfiqur, was right on the money.
At one stage, it looked as if the visitors were going to thrash the Zimbabwean team comfortably, courtesy to Mushfiqur’s bang; however, the following batsmen failed to capitalise on his efforts, which eventually led Bangladesh to taste another defeat.
The Bengali tigers were bowled out on 245, playing irrational shorts, which helped http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 win the match by 5 runs.
Mushfiqur’s triple figured knock also did not save his country from defeat; however, the Bengali coach, Law, was impressed with the batsman’s efforts and rated his inning as outstanding.
According to the Bangladeshi coach, the 22-year-old batsman was right on the money with his recital, and it was the responsibility of other batsmen to keep the same momentum.
"He's played one of the best innings of his career. It's just a shame that a guy who plays an innings like that ends up in the losing team.” He said.
"He's absolutely distraught in the dressing room. If some of the batsmen who got out before him did things differently, it would've been a different story.” Law added.
Following three consecutive victories against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747, the Zimbabwean team has won the series 3-0; whereas the last two matches of the series will be played on August 19 and August 21 respectively.
The Bengali coach, who is a former Australian all-rounder, cited that they lost the 3rd ODI due to poor fielding efforts.
"I still can't get out the head the four catches we dropped, that probably cost us," he stated.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s coach is looking forward to win the remaining matches of the series, and showed confidence on the team.
