Team http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746, as he possesses experience, skill and the ability to take wickets in critical situations, claims the former Oz spin star, Stuart
MacGill, who played 44 Test and 3 ODI matches during his international career.
MacGill opines that Bhajji is a key cog in India’s bowling department which, without him, lacks aggression and attacking spirit. He is of the view that if the off-spinner had played in this series, his team would have been in a different situation.
While speaking to the media today, Mac said, “I really love watching Harbhajan Singh bowl because he gets a lot of revs on the ball. It's unfortunate that he's out of the side. I want him to start putting that effort again. India are missing his skill and
effort.”
Harbhajan has been out-of-favour since his early exit from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760. Before the start of this
series, some former players recommended the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to pick him for the squad, but the national selectors rejected the thought.
MacGill, who could not play even a single game on the Indian soil, regrets on missing the 2000-01 Australia tour India.
He said, “The most disappointing was that I never played in India. I travelled for the 2000-01 series but the management never played me. It was perhaps because they didn't want two leg-spinners. But, both Shane and I believed that we should have played
together. We would have taken so many wickets together.”
Team India is currently playing the 2nd Test of the series of 4 matches at the Sydney Cricket Ground. With 3 days of the game gone, the visitors trail by 354 runs. In reply to Australia’s 659-run total of first innings, they have scored 114/2
runs in their second innings.
