Stuart McNay and Graham Biehl looking to hit Top 10 in 470 Men: 2012 London Olympics
So far, the 2012 London Olympic Games has produced some tremendous sailing competition in different classes. The sailors from around the world are giving their best to get into the Top 3 so that they can earn one of the medals.
The weather conditions on the Weymouth and Portland waters have been tremendous from the beginning and the fleets of different classes had superb forecast to sail.
One of the top competitors in the 470 Men class, America’s Stuart McNay and Graham Biehl are also in the pipe line to claim the leading podium positions. The pair had mixed luck from the start of the event and made some shifts in the fleet standings but
never lost their heart and continued working hard towards their goal.
Right now, they are on 11th spot and are aiming to improve their rankings and hit the Top 10 fleet standings. They started the regatta with pretty bad finishes in the initial races but they bounced back brilliantly in the advance stages of the
event and claimed some higher finishes to grab 11th spot.
The pair is quite determined to make it to the expectations and clinch higher rank in the final positions. They will be looking to pull up their socks and give the best of their skills as they are up against top guns of the game.
While speaking to the local media, Biehl said, “We had a much better idea of the wind today than we did yesterday and we were able to execute throughout the race. The fleet is really challenging in the Men’s 470. We had a bit of a rough day yesterday. Just
getting back into the swing and making sure our consistency is back up there is the key to getting the medals.”
