Stuart McNay and Graham Biehl satisfied with performance in 2012 London Olympic Games
Fifth day of the 2012 London Olympic Games sailing competitions was one of the toughest for the regatta participants because the weather conditions were unfavourable for the fleet members as they launched their boats in the Weymouth and Portland waters to
start the proceedings of the day.
The US Olympic Sailing Team, like all other fleet members, faced some trouble due to strong weather conditions on the racing area. Due to the troubling forecast, the US Sailing Team tumbled down from their previous high podium places that they grabbed at
the end of the third day proceedings.
The American squad participated in 470 Men, Star, Laser and Laser Radial, RS:X Men and Women, 49er and Women Match Racing class. Now they are in Top 10 fleet standings in only Star class where Mark Mendelblatt and Brian Fatih displayed impressive sailing
performance.
The American team for the 470 Men, which comprises of Stuart McNay and Graham Biehl, is also struggling on the Weymouth and Portland waters. However, they are satisfied with their overall performance in the regatta and believe they can improve their rankings
in the upcoming races. Currently they are placed on 21st podium place.
While speaking to the local media, Biehl said, “We had an OK start, but missed two opportunities to come back, and that set the pace for that race. It was tough to find some lanes and a bit tricky.  We were lucky to pass a few boats. I thought we were going
pretty well, speed-wise in the second race, but we were pretty far back from the get go.”
