Stubborn husband and his stinky toothbrush!?

My husband is normally very hygenic and strives to look after himself but he has had the same toothbrush for a year and it smells and has gone black at the base and it makes me feel sick just looking at it. Ive asked him to get rid of it but he is being stubborn and wont and tells me that he will change it when he wants to rather than when I tell him to!? - What can I do?

  1. Oh lol, this sounds like my husband!

If it were me, I'd say no kissing until he got a new toothbrush or you could mention that you saw a cockroach crawling over it the other night, looking for food.

  2. Throw his toothbrush away when he is not home. And replace it with a similar toothbrush. It is not healthy for him to have the same toothbrush for that long. They carry lots of germs.

  3. You sound like his mom instead of his wife, your suppose to work with him not boss him around like he's a kid,, while your out shopping pick up the same kind of toothbrush that he is using for him (Of course to be polite) but leave it in the package. express your concerns that you think its mold an you got you an HIM a new one! And you got yourself a new one too because your suppose to change them every 3 months!  I still dont think he'd be so angry if you werent bossing him!

    happy brushing lol'

  4. Toothbrush should be changed every two or three months for hygenic purposes.  Perhaps U should just change it out for him. :--0

  5. Change it ur self with out telling him.

  6. Yes, a toothbrush should be changed every two to three months unless it wears out sooner.  If it does wear out sooner, then the brushing techniques and habits need to be checked.  If he won't stand to change it, and you can't bring your self to buy him a new one disposing the old one, then you could let it soak in straight peroxide or a bleach water (10 parts water to 1 part bleach solution) to disinfect the brush.  Most men look at the tooth brush similar to the coffee mug, just rinse it out and it will be fine.
