Stuck about my career what shall i do?

my dad knows the leader of a cooking apprenticeship and it would mean me moving to london when im 16 and living up there for 2 months at a time. i dont really wanna leave home tht early but i have to if i want a good career in cooking

what shall i do?

  1. Stay in the area you want to live and just work your way up a restaurant you wouldn't mind cooking at in the future. Keep in mind you may have to start as a bus boy or dishwasher since you are 16. In a couple years you can cook and then use that on a resume for where you want to go from there. I think of 16 as being too young to move out of the country...but that's just me.

I think that you are young enough to not have to make any huge decisions like moving so far from home yet.  I don't know what the laws are out of the country, but in the states I'm pretty sure you have to be 18 before you can cook in a restaurant.  I wouldn't jump into anything too extreme.  There is a lot of time to build up your career....if you know you want to go into the culinary field, I would continue working in restuarant through high school to gain experience and look into different culinary schools as an option when you're finished with high school.
