  1. it makes it 2((3)3+1)2nd power

    so you have 3 times 3 plus one

  2. The answer is 200.

    Here's how

    since x = 3

    the equation becomes

    2 [3(3) + 1 ] power of 2

    2 [ 9 + 1] power or 2

    2 (10) power of 2

    2 (100)

    =

    200

  3. When a numerical value (3) is placed side by side with a variable (x), it means multiplication  like in this example:

    3x means to multiply the value of x with 3:

    In this case 3x = 3*x = 3 X 3  = 3(3) = 3*3 = 9.

    If x were 4 instead of 3, then 3x = 3*x = 3 X 4 = 3(4) = 3*4 = 12.

  4. 2(3x+1) 2nd power = 2(3x+1)(3x+1)

    plug in 3 for x and solve....

  5. Do the parenthesis first so (3*3 +1) = 10 and 10 squared is 100*2 is 200.

    the parenthesis take precedence over everything else.  so do the parenthesis first.  then it goes in order of operations with exponents first, then multiplication. then addition.  so, since parenthesis go first, ignore everything else and do order of operations on the inside of parenthesis. then work on the outside.

  6. I think you were right the first time, but don't write it like that.

    If we substitute x-3 into

    2(3x+1)^2

    Then we get

    2(3x3 + 1)^2

    Then you can solve from there (remember, multiply before adding)

    Good question though!

  7. First of all, when you see something like 3x, it means 3*x (3 multiplied by x)

    so here's how we could do your problem

    2(3*3+1)²

    2(10)²

    2(100)

    200

    Answer = 200.

  8. What does 2(3x+1)^2 equal when x=3?

    Just do this:

    2{3(3)+1}^2

    =>

    2(9+1)^2

    =>

    2(10)^2

    =>

    2(100)

    =>

    200

    The answer is 200.

    You confusion seems to be with what the "x" means.

    In algebra, when a number is located right next to variable, that means you multiply them.

    So take this problem,

    3x=9; what does x equal?

    This problem is asking you what number multiplied by "3" equals 9.

    OR

    What times 3 equals 9?

    The answer is 3.

    Also, when a number is located next to another number surrounded by "( )" then you also multiply the 2 numbers.

    For example:

    What does 3(3) equal?

    This problem is basically asking what does 3x3 equal?

    The answer is 9.

    So 3(3) = 9.

    I'm no math teacher but sometimes "down to earth" help is the best.

  9. it turns the x to 3 then you multiply 3 times 3 and add 1 then multiply by raise to the 2nd power  = 100 then multiply by 2

    the answer is 200

  10. 2(3(3)+1)

    do you kno what i mean? hehe sorry, i dont kno how to explain lol

  11. you multiply the 3's. when a variable is next to a number you multiply it. 2(9+1)^2 ( 2nd power) so figure it out from there.

    Twiztdforlife helped you with you homework, that'll be $27.50, plus tax.

  12. I'm not sure i think its

    2(3x3=9+1=10x2=100x2=200

    Im not sure i hope its right im sorry if its wrong
