Stuck on killing Lord Melenas on WoW?

Im a lvl 9 druid and when I use spells (which is better than my staff so don't say attack melee) it always evades and every one always says im a lvl 9 druid and its easy. How do i beat him solo

It sounds to me like you're trying to attack him from somewhere he cannot reach you.

Maybe you are on the ledge above where Melenas is, or maybe in the water pool.  Either way you cannot cast spells onto him if he cannot get to you.

Blizzard introduced this to stop players from killing in the waters.

If you're really stuck, come back a couple of levels later.  If you really want to attempt it sooner rather than later, take out the mobs around him and then attack him.

Alternatively, wait until you are level 10 when you get bear form.  As soon as you transform into a Bear you get more HP and deal more damage.  The amount of HP you get depends on how much strength you have.
