Studded tires?

Why don't studded tires make sparks when you are driving down the highway? Most of the road is icy, but there are always dry areas of pavement.

  1. because they are making direct contact, when traction is broken then you may see some.


  2. Its the kind of metals that are used for the studs... some metals will spark more then others when hitting concreat... some wont spark at all...

  3. It's due to the metal used to make the studs.  Using a material that made sparks would be a safety hazard - what if the car had a fuel leak?
