Student Assistance Fund (Ireland only please)?

Has anyone out there gotten the Student Assistance Fund or know of anyone who has?? I was just wondering how much you would get generally.

My friend got it twice. It was two once of payments, you dont get it regular, like a payment every week or month.

You have to prove what you need it for and show receipts to prove that you used it for what you said you would.

Anyway my friend got it because she was starting college but was homeless and applied for a grant but even though she was homeless they went on her parents earnings (who she tact with) and said her parents earned too much and she couldnt get a grant.

She couldnt pay for book or anything she needed really so they gave her 200 euro for stationary and two books she needed.

She got 150 euro later in the year I think that was for some field trip they had to take.

It wasnt easy to get either. She had to show her refusal of a grant and proof that she was on the homeless register.

So theres no set amount you have to tell them what you're using it for and they will decide how much to give you.
