Student Life at USNA?

How nice is student life at USNA? Is there any time to go off of campus or is it like a boot camp?

Plebes are extremely restricted.  during the school week, nope  Saturdays they may travel 30 miles from the Chapel Dome( new this year, last year it was 22 except for certain occasions).  Sundays they may attend church services ONlY Off campus but must be back by 1300.  

during the school week: no sleeping unless it's light's out( 2030 hours)

One of my Mids( DH and I adopted two) has one or two free periods every day but  he still has a very full schedule.
