Student Metrocard?

I'm going to be a freshman in college next year in New York City. Is there a discounted MetroCard student rate, and if so, how do I get it?

The Student Transportation Program was established by the board of the MTA in consultation with the NYC Department of Education. The Student MetroCard is available to students in grades K though 12 and is issued for either half fare or full fare depending on the distance the student must travel to and from school.........At this time there are no plans to make this program available on the collegiate level. The program is subsidized by New York City and the State of New York.
