I had to withdraw from my last student teaching practicum because I had poor classroom management skills. I recognize the areas I need to improve in are understanding and implementing rules, routines, procedures and am working on that...but also really am having difficulty knowing how much material / how much to do in the classroom activities. I tend to have too much!

  2. too much is always better than not enough because you can always modify to fit into the time frame allotted. You get more experience in this area by actually doing. Teach a lesson and see how long it takes you. Modify from there to plan your next lesson.

As far as rules, routines, and procedures... consistency is the key. You can find books or read tips online for examples of rules, routines, and procedures and pick through those appropriate ones for your classroom.
