Question:

Student Travelcards?

I'm a student, living and studying in London.

I own a young persons railcard and a student oyster card but I'm in zone 5 and we only have overground trains here (no tubes). So I can't reap the benefits on a monthly student travelcard. Does anyone know how I might go about changing this?

  1. Depends if your from South London or north London.  Unfortunatley in South London, all you could possibly do is use it on the Bus Network, however in North London you should be not that far away from a tube station, possibly you may well need to use a bus to get there first.

YP cards on the overground are great for use, as long as your outside of the peak time or travelling some distance at peak due to the minimum fare arangements.

There is not more advice I can give you on this as Oyster is one of the biggest problem schemes for anyone who does not reside in the London area.
