Student athletes taking gifts?

When dose it become illigal or against the rule for student athletes to take gifts and money. Also who can't give them gifts?

  1. It is against NCAA rules to give a student athlete any gifts (including meals) beyond one visit and to fraternize with them (soliciting phone calls, etc) in attempts to recruit them to come to a University.

    Any member of a coaching staff/administration/athletic office is not allowed to contribute to this.


  2. Are you talking about sponsership because i am pretty sure that happens to most student athletes that are good - i have a couple of b-ball friends and they are sponsered by nike to wear their brand so they give them gifts cause they are doing it.

    I don't recall it being illegal. It is pretty creepy if you get it from a teacher though. Fans and students are always okay.

    Check your school rules and TOS, and ask your principal, if he isn't helpful ask your counselor or school supervisor.
