Question:

Student credit card for England?

ok so I live in the U.S and I am going to be transfering to a university in England to study. My parents told me I could get a student credit card and they will help me with the bill. Does anyone know of a certain student credit card I could apply for here and use over there? Would an MTV U card work because those look pretty good? Or is it that in England they will take any Mastercard or Visa card or anything like that? Thanks : )

  1. Any Mastercard or Visa will be fine.  They have computer chips in their cards in England which makes transactions quicker. With an American card they'll have to do them manually but that isn't a problem, it still works. You can get money out of an ATM with your American ATM card too.

  2. I am not able to totally make sure my answer is fit for your situation. It could be useful anyway,it would better you check out yourself here.http://creditcard.expertips.info/0-appli...

  3. I've hosted 13 exchange students (all who have had MC and/or Visas) and traveled around quite a bit in Europe. You should do fine with any credit card with either a Mastercard or Visa logo on it. To avoid credit card fees, you might even look into a "travel" card. Visa and Mastercard both have them and your parents can put cash on them as needed. Kind of like debit cards.

PS You might have problem with American Express, so I'd stay away from that one if I were you.
