  1. Seriously, this may sound terribly corny, but just be honest. You obviously think you're the best candidate, so say it! Just don't be a jerk about it. Say you "feel that you're most qualified" or that you're "prepared for anything the position has to challenge you with."

List experience you've had in the past, but PLEASE don't go too anecdote heavy. It gets boring and sounds like you're bragging, which nobody likes.

In your speech, open up with a joke, just so people know you're approachable and friendly... assuming you are. :) It makes people more interested in what you have to say, and makes you seem more human. Trust me, after a week of election speeches, I know by now.

As for pre-speech marketing, it all depends on your school's rules about it. Some schools have no limits, and others are very strict. Be sure to check with a school official first so you don't break any rules and look like a fool. I'd say give out some candy with a friendly smile and hang up some simple, tasteful flyers.

    Good luck!

  2. do a youtube vlog and send it out via email to students. Do a stand-up comedy routine. Play some good music and dance to it.

  3. give candy. always works

  4. Market yourself as someone who is fun, energetic, and "cool", but still cares for the students and takes the position seriously. Posters, buttons, and pencils with your name or some catchy slogan on them are a great way to attract attention. Also, try to fit in your campaign into daily life-you could mention it in conversations or write about it in some english assignment.

    Hope this helps!

  5. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

me and some friends ran for class president(last by one point), and we had some really cute posters.  You should make a good video that talks about your running point things, and have a good song.  also, we had this one poster that people thought was very cool.

    Things to do today:

    1. Get a Haircut

    2. Eat Pizza

    3. Vote for Marisa, Sarina, and Dan

    Hope this helps

    Good luck!

  6. cookies!

    or pens

    or pencils

    or paper that nobody uses

    or candy

    or coupons

    or bracelet things

    or toasters =D

  7. The personal touch.

Try to think of one "platform" idea, such as a healthy snack machine, (or whatever, like a slogan) and go and smile and shake as many hands as possible.  Look at the yearbook first and try to say "hi (insert name here), I'm (insert your name here).  I hope I can count on your vote!"

Smile at them, call them by name, touch them, they are hooked

  8. i don't know what a student election.  i'm figuring it's class president or something like that.  I'd lay off the slander.  and just give them what they need and "want" to vote for
