  1. I don't know about schools that are not colleges...but for college GSU is right in the middle of Atlanta, and there is GA Tech, Emory, Mercer, and several art and culinary schools.  I am from Atlanta and have lived there for over 20 years...if you want to know any info about the city.....email me.

  2. I deal a lot with this organization. www.forteexchange.org/   They work with schools all over the United States.

My guess is that with your english accent, you'll automatically have a conversation starter in school.  Good luck :)

  3. There are essentially three ways of being a high school exchange student to the U.S.

    1. Boarding school. Where you pay to live on campus. Expensive, very expensive, private schools.

    2. Have family or friends in the U.S. and go to live with them. This requires special permission from the school and many of them will not do it because they don't want to mess with the F-1 visa process. Also quite expensive as the school may charge tuition plus you have to have proof of financial stability.

    3. A recognized foreign exchange student organization -- this is the most common. The drawback for you is that you cannot pick the city you wish to go to. Some programs, such as Aspect, will allow you to apply early and pay extra to pick a particular state or region. You will need to be sure you pick a reliable program that is CSIET listed (www.csiet.org). If the program is not, public schools may be difficult to find.

    Good luck!

PS I've hosted 13 students now and, unfortunately, sometimes people ARE mean to them. But those people are usually mean to other American students as well.

  4. google it theres lots of organizations...i didnt like atlanta that much.....try the north
