Student forgien exchange.....HELP!?

Question

When I go to college in a year. I want to do a foreign exchange. I have always wanted to travel the world. It's been my dream! I am from the U.S. and I want to know if you could go to a country like Italy or Greece and not know how to speak the language? I am not in any language classes because varies reasons. I learning a language is harder for me then others. I also want to know if you have done a foreign exchange if you enjoyed it and were glad you did it? If you went to a country that their first language was not English was it tough?
