Student in Pennsylvania need to get motorcycle learners permit?

I live in Texas, but go to school for 8 months in Pennsylvania...I have a scooter and need to get a learners permit for it...Do I have to have a Pennsylvania License to get the permit or can I use my Texas one?

  1. If you have a TX license, you'd be fine, but a Texas Learners' Permit doesn't apply here in PA.


  2. The only exception for a motorcycle permit to be issued to an out of state driver is: US armed forces, Federal Government Employees and PA State Government employees (along with the spouses or dependent child).

    SO... no you have to have a PA drivers license in order to get a motorcycle permit in PA.
