Student metrocard excuse?

i lost my student metrocard... i know its stupid.. i just got it yesterday! but i guess it fell out of my pocket.. does any one know a excuse i can give my teachers... a good one. so i can get it as soon as possible.. i cant really afford to use 4 dollars everyday.
