Question:

Students moving overseas? Dublin vs Sydney?

I'm considering taking a semester off so i can travel. I'm debating between Dublin and Sydney. If it's Australia, I'd live with my aunt and just work but I've been there twice. If its Ireland, I'd need to get an apartment and job and use the Canadian program for such travel. Do you think that doing such a good thing is a good idea? Would I be uncomfortable? Which place would be better?

  1. Well, I would go w/ someplace where it's more exciting to you. Myself? I would pick Sydney in a heartbeat. Australia is the country I want to see the most. But, if I was in your situation? Living on your own though will be a great experience especially in a foreign city. As long as you can get a good job and afford your own apartment, I would pick Dublin! You've already been to Australia, go to Dublin when you still have a chance. You have family in Australia, you can always visit!

  2. Sydney is safer and Australia's cities are more similar to Canada's, but there are a lot more adventurous things to try there.

The weather is debatable... rainy or incredible hot.

  3. Sydney, i like Sydney

  4. Personally I would choice Sydney, for a number of reasons:

Sydney is a more beautiful city

    Sydney is warmer

There are some great day trips out of Sydney

Australia is a wonderful country to travel around – if you get the opportunity

However, I suppose if you are a student interested in traditional writings, literature and poetry, then Dublin has Trinity college, which would more meet your needs.
