Students of Media Arts and Animation at any of the Art Institutes?

I am starting in the Animation program later this month. I am looking into buying a laptop. Right now I am leaning toward a mac...is this the right choice, or are there other computers that would be better for the job?

MAC is little expensive, but i think u should go for mac & only mac.
