i am planning to study english at university and possibly become a teacher or writer. i have to choose my AS choices by tuesday and so far i have decided on english language and english literature but i still have two more options to fill in. i am interested in philosophy but i am worried that a)it will be too hard to get an A or a B and b)i will not have enough time to read all of the material and write essays for three of my subjects. has anyone out there taken this or a similar combination and can give me some advice? or is anyone studying english at Uni who can recommend any other a-levels that could complement it or help in the future?

also, i am considering doing maths as well but i am worried that i will find it especially difficult because my other options are so similar and art -based. is this true? thanks in advance

  1. well I wouldn't do A-Level maths, but that's just me, I'm rubbish at it. I did Philosophy at A-Level and enjoyed it, I got a B, but yes some parts of it can be tough. I think philosophy would fit with your other choices better than maths would, but it's entirely your choice go with what you feel more competent with and what you might enjoy more, cause there's nothing worse than being stuck taking a class that you really hate or find too difficult, you'll only end up falling behind. Good luck!!
