Depends on where you live.  Cali they could be tiny, the midwewst they could be large. Go check one out and see what is comfortabe for you.  'Everybody has different living needs. You might have a lot of stuff and need a lot of room or maybe you have nothing and won't be there very often. These are questions you have to ask yourself.  It sounds like you want to sign a lease without looking at it.
