Studio fix fluid foundation?

Question

I have the studio fix fluid, but it always looks streaky when I apply it with a foundation brush. I heard that using a wet make up sponge will make it look more natural, is this true? If not how would you suggest applying the foundation. I really want to continue wearing it because its the first foundation I actually like.
