Study English?

Question

I'm a Chinese student,I want to study English.I am the English novice .But I don't know study English means .( My English a little is possibly nonstandard )Who can help me? Thanks!

U mean u dont know how to study english? I am not a native speaker but English is the second language of my country.. Well, the best way to study English is to practice. When u study, u should feel it. Grammar is a part of English but in my own opinion it's not really important. No matter how long u study grammar, u will never become a good speaker if u dont practice speaking at all..... If u practice English regulary, sooner or later u will become fluent.

It appears that you know a little bit of English to post your note, right?  Are you in the United States or somewhere else?  

There are a number of things you can do to learn English (assuming that you live in the US)...

For starters, you might try to find someone who speaks in your native language who knows a little bit of English.  This is so you can practice your English with them and if you have a little bit of trouble understanding something, they can explain it to you and you can understand it easier.

You might also try to contact the school district office in the area where you live to see if they can give you information on where you can find a school that teaches ESL (in some cases, there are some schools that teach ESL at night or on Saturdays for a small fee.)

You can also go to some of the websites that teach ESL classes and look into signing up for one.

What about going to your local library and looking at the books in the Children's section?  You might be thinking 'but I am too old for this sort of thing', but you could check out a few books like Green Eggs and Ham and then practice trying to say the words out loud (who cares if you don't say them right, you will learn to say them the right way later.)

If you are a little bit more advanced, you can go onto some of the websites that teach you proper English spelling, reading, etc. or some websites like Freedict.com that teach you how to translate from Chinese to English or English to Chinese to see how to say things.
