  1. There is no age limits to study in the U.S. the only prerequisite is that you must hold have graduated from high school and of course that you can prove this. You will also need to take the SAT I or ACT and some universities will also require you take the SAT II: Subject Tests in addition to either the SAT I or ACT.

So yes you may study in the U.S. at the age of 17 provided the requirements for admission set forth by your chosen U.S. university. However at 17 you may find it difficult to find a place to rent, get renters insurance and you will also pay a premium for medical insurance due to your young age. So expect high costs for this and make sure you have budgeted.

As for the cost of tuition and living expenses, it is going to cost anywhere between $18,000 and $45,000 per year! This depends on the university you chose, the state and city you live and the area you decide to rent in.

You will need an F1 (student) visa in order to study in the U.S. but first you need to be accepted to a university in the U.S. and obtain an I-20 from them before you can apply for the visa at the U.S. Embassy in your area.
