I am an indian student doing my sixth form in the UK. I am still debating whether to study in the UK or america. Although america has a broader system of education, Im a bit concerned about the racism and the people there. Universities in the UK seem more international and the legal age for clubbing and drinking is lower too!! For all those, especially international students, who have had experiences of studying in both countries, it would be great to get your honest opinion.!!!

THX a lot

  1. Hey,

The US has a great education system, for the reason you stated, it's broader meaning there is much more available to students. Although the system is good in the US, the UK also had a credible education system as well.

There is racism wherever you go in the world, so to say Americans are racist is pretty silly. We have millions of indians in the US, and don't forget students in college are as liberal as you can get so everyone is equal and a friend. The UK has a strong indian population, especially in the London area, and again the racism is not readily seen.

As for drinking, the age to drink in the US is 21. I am from the US but am studying in the UK, and I love both countries. There are pros and cons of course, but whichever one you go to is still a great experience for you.

  2. Try Canada, the drinking age is 19.  Also America isn't racist as a whole.  No one really gives a rip where someone is from or what color they are, but we have a lot of doctors from India and Pakistan who can hardly speak intelligible english.  Sure they have very good grammar but they're accents are so thick that it's very difficult to decipher what they're saying.
