Matthew 5:18....I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.

Matthew 24:35...Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.See also Luke 16:17 & 21:33

Isa 40:8...The grass withers and the flowers fall,

but the word of our God stands forever."

Isa 55:11....so is my word that goes out from my mouth:

It will not return to me empty,

but will accomplish what I desire

and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

Comment.

Till implies that after the great events of Christ's life, and the establishment of his kingdom, the old dispensation, as a dispensation of the letter and yoke of bondage, as a system of types and shadows, will pass away, and has passed away (Eph 2:15 Col 2:14 Heb 8:13); while the spirit and substance of the law, i.e. love to God and man, will last forever.''

Is the above comment right or wrong , why ?

Jesus said "not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished" did Jesus accomplish the law ?

Is this the end of the old law , replaced by love God ,love your neibiour ?

From the other scriptures quoted , can the words of God & Jesus be ignored & is that why they are cross referenced ?

Have i missed any important point ?

Can you add any relevant scriptures or comments ?

  1. Luke 16:16;

    The law and the prophets were unto John [ the Baptist ]: since that time kingdom of God is preached and every man presseth into it.

    Is the kingdom of God, the heaven and h**l teaching? 2Pet.3:13; Rev.2:7; 21:1-5;

    Is the kingdom of God, the trinity teaching? Matt.28:18-20 [ who is the giver of the power that Christ Jesus has? 1Cor.15:22-28,51-53 [ Rev.1:1-3.5; 3:12,14 ];

    Has Jesus always been God's son and will he always be God's son? John 3:16;

    John 17:1-26; 20:17; John 3:13-15;

    How is the law summed up in Matt.22:37-40; Love God with all thy strength and neighbor as thy self [ all of us are family, bible and world history is proof so few act like it ]. Matt.10:34-36; 2Tim.3:1-7; Gen.8:21 [ evil ruled before and after the flood ];

    Rev.20:1-6,12,13 [ no Satan 1000 years and how many years after Eden, the heavenly [ for new heavens ], are with Jesus at his second coming, to resurrect the earthly all the way back to Abel [ for the new earth ], when there is no more Satan or any like unto him, then all possible is saved into the kingdom paradise of God as his family ];

  2. JESUS DID END THE OLD LAW,NOW WE FOLLOW WHAT HIS FATHER TOLD HIM TO TELL US TO DO.

  3. Psalm 19:14

    Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

    This is not just a vain wish. We are here to accomplish all that Jesus did. It takes attunement with God's will to do so, but why not? We are made in God's image also. The laws hold until the illusion of good and evil pass away and we are no longer deceived by double vision.

  4. You really need to get out more. Seriously. I bet you didn't get laid once at college, did you?

  5. uh, yeah, sure.

  6. It appears your questions are too deep for some .

    I do agree that the old law was replaced , but all the 10 comandments can be cover if you apply love.

    for example you would not steal if you love your fellow man .

  7. Jesus Christ—The Key to the Knowledge of God

    YOU are standing at the door, fumbling with your keys. It is cold and dark, and you are eager to get inside—but the key does not work. It looks right, yet the lock will not budge. How frustrating! You look at your keys again. Are you using the right one? Has someone damaged the key?

    That is a fair picture of what this world’s religious confusion has done with the knowledge of God. In effect, many have tampered with the key that opens it up to our understanding—Jesus Christ. Some religions have removed the key, ignoring Jesus altogether. Others have distorted Jesus’ role, worshiping him as Almighty God. In any case, the knowledge of God is closed to us without an accurate understanding of this principal figure, Jesus Christ.

    You may recall that Jesus said: “This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you (Jehovah), the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.” (John 17:3) In saying this, Jesus was not being boastful. The Scriptures repeatedly emphasize the need for accurate knowledge of Christ. (Ephesians 4:13; Colossians 2:2; 2 Peter 1:8; 2:20) “To [Jesus Christ] all the prophets bear witness,” noted the apostle Peter. (Acts 10:43) And the apostle Paul wrote: “Carefully concealed in [Jesus] are all the treasures of wisdom and of knowledge.” (Colossians 2:3) Paul even said that all of Jehovah’s promises come true because of Jesus. (2 Corinthians 1:20) So Jesus Christ is the very key to the knowledge of God. Our knowledge of Jesus must be free of any distortions as to his nature and as to his role in God’s arrangement. But why do Jesus’ followers consider him to be central to God’s purposes? From the days of the faithful man Abel, God’s servants had eagerly looked forward to the Seed foretold by Jehovah God himself. (Genesis 3:15; 4:1-8; Hebrews 11:4) It had been revealed that the Seed would serve God’s purpose as the Messiah, meaning “Anointed One.” He would “finish off sin,” and the glories of his Kingdom were foretold in the psalms. (Daniel 9:24-26; Psalm 72:1-20) Who would prove to be the Messiah?

    Imagine the excitement felt by a young Jew named Andrew when he listened to the words of Jesus of Nazareth. Andrew rushed to his brother Simon Peter and told him: “We have found the Messiah.”
