Studying FASHION in... SPAIN?

Please tell me your thoughts on one studying fashion in Spain (Madrid or Barcelona). Are those cities well-known in terms of fashion? I don't really feel like studying fashion in Paris, Milan, or London. I would love to blend my love for the culture of Spain and my love for fashion by studying there and eventually building a fashion career there. Do you think Barcelona or Madrid will make a name for themselves in fashion in the next 5 years?

I think Barcelona is much more the fashion capital of Spain.  Madrid has a lot of things, but the artists and fashion designers (of all sorts, architecture, clothing, furniture, etc) have always flocked to Barcelona.

Of course, the culture in Barcelona is less "Spanish", and more "Catalán".  

I believe there are famous art schools in Barcelona, and I believe there is a famous fashion school, but those are not my forte.

I believe that Barcelona already HAS made a name for itself in fashion.

Personally, I liked Madrid better than Barcelona, though.  But if you are up for that challenge, that's the best place in my opinion.
