Hi there

In Septemer I am going to Lyon for a semester and then Barcelona for a semester and I was wondering... when I am in Lyon will I be able to use up my recommended 15 hours of study with spanish language and italian language classes?? (as well as the erasmus french language classes)

I say this because I don't want to study something like "French History" and have to wrie long essays in French when the other students are native speakers!!

Any advice?

Thanks xox

  1. Hi. I spent last semester doing Erasmus in Angers. We had to take 12 hours of classes in the language of the country ie French. Our other languages weren't included. If we wanted to do, say, German or Spanish, we had to do this on top of our 12 hours.

Your uni should be able to tell you if your other languages are included. (And if it makes you feel better, Erasmus students are often allowed extra time or dictionaries if sitting the same exams as native speakers. And for essays and projects, lecturers normally take into account that you are not a native speaker and grade you accordingly.
