Hey I'm going to grade 9 and my parents are on me about my marks.

I was recieving 79's and 80s , in grade 8.

But I want to know are there any tips for studying?

ps. Please don't suggest studying with someone because I tend to be distracted while with others. :)

  1. Don't listen to music when you study. Go into a quiet room. Keep the lighting good. Read more books.

  2. i'm going into tenth grade and i got the same grades you did, i quit my extra stuff, like sports to focus on school.

just read through notes for a few minutes a day.

and before a test go through all the material till you know it like the back of your hand.

  3. There are two possible problems. Either you don't understand the materiel or you don't know how to present it.

If you don't understand the materiel. I suggest you redo some of the homework that the teacher gives you. Write down everything the teachers say is important, and make sure to go over that before tests. Also study actively, write stuff down, make practice tests, don't just read the textbooks over and over.

If you understand the materiel, but can't seem to show this to your teachers. Ask your teachers exactly what it takes to get a 95 on the assignment they will will be glad to tell you. On texts/exams try highlighting the important parts of the question and make sure you answer every part of it. Often students will forget to answer a part of the question and lose points because of that.

I hope this helps, I am an 11th grade IB student.
