Question:

Studying abroad (America)…?

I am 19 years old and I want to runaway into a different country and do my studies at university there. I prefer to go to America. What qualifications are recognised? What steps do I need to take? And how much money will be involved? Currently I am living in the UK with a British passport.

Any other info that is useful?

Thanks

  1. You need to contact your school/university, or a school in your area to see what programs they offer! Many schools have different programs, for different legnths of time, different experiences, which all affect the cost...no one here can tell you what it'd be!

  2. You didn't really say much information in your question.

First you need to know what school you wanna go to, what major you're going to take. After you pick several schools, find out their requirements (application, tuition, bank statement amount for the duration of study, any essay you need to submit or portfolio for design major, etc).

Send all the requirements, if you get accepted, you will get an I-20 from the school.

I came from Asia to US for school, I had to apply for student visa (using my I-20). I'm not sure if you need a visa or not. But I know you need the I-20 to pass the immigration at the first US city you arrive.

    hope this helps

  3. Universities in America have different requirements (and prices!), so for specifics you'll have to contact the colleges you're interested in. In general, you'll probably have to take the SAT or ACT and fill out an application from the university. To get an idea about the procedure, check out http://www.universitylanguage.com . Good luck!
