Studying abroad in England?

I'm from Canada, and planning to study in England after a year or so in UBC. I was wondering if it's really expensive, what the people are like, is it complicated to arrange, etc. If anyone has had any experiences, please share! Thank you.

The procedure is fairly simple, it is quite expensive for international students but there's usually financial aid for gifted students at the most prestigious universities.
