I was in Fiji last year and most people there speak English (on the main land at least) but Fijian is an awesome language and you would def pick some up. the University of the South Pacific caters for lots of different Islands in the Pacific so I would assume teaching was done mainly in English, the professors that I spoke to definitely spoke English very fluently. Good luck you'll love it!


  2. English is one of the official languages in Fiji, since it was a British colony. Almost everyone speaks English. The other main languages spoken are Fijian and Hindi.

    Naevo is a native Fijian name, you pronounce every letter. It would be something like Na-eh-voh.
