I will bein Granada for a the month of June, while I'm there I'd like to know what kind of clothing is suggested and anything else that would be useful.

Also, after that month I want to take a couple of weeks to do some travelling, I'd like suggestions for where, cheap travel/accomodation tips, etc.

Any information you can offer would be helpful I'm sure!

  1. Hello

i went to grandad last month and it is 1 of the most amazing cities i have been to, be sure to visit the Alhambra it is fantastic also the cathedral, Sierra Nevada, i can go on but it is beautiful. when you get there go to the tourist info and they will give you maps and advice on the best times to visit places.

Marbella and malaga are good for a few days but can get expensive especially if you go to Puerto Benus but worth the trip.

June is pretty hot here but because Granada is in the mountain it might get cooler in the evening so pack a light jacket but i think you will be more comfortable in shorts and t-shirts.

Have a fantastic time if you have any questions feel free to mail me.

  2. you must go to see a small andalucian town called........

    Moron de la frontera

yes, it translates as moron of the frontier

how cool is that?? a whole town named after the village idiot

  3. It can get cool in Granada, so you might want to have a swearter, just in case.

How long do you have?  What can you afford in terms of travel?  Two weeks?  Is that what you mean?  I would stick to Iberia.  Madrid, Lisbon, maybe the Algarve, Sevilla, and Barcelona.  You want to get to Segovia, Toledo, maybe Ávila, Salamanca, and the Rioja country (whatever appeals from that list) from Madrid.  You could easily daytrip most of those, keeping a room in Madrid for the duration, if you wanted to.

Cheap no longer exists, unless the dollar takes a serious turn for the better, which it isn't terriby likely to do.  Money rarely moves terribly quickly.  Best bets for economy are Hostales, and Pensiones, one star are the least expensive.  Do a search for the places you want to go.  Just put "pensions in Seville" into the search window.  (ps...for Seville, just go straight to sevilla5.com...really nice site with great info).

and Moron de la Frontera means "hill on the border", not Moron.  but I may have a clue who is...
