Hello,

Does anyone know of any good study abroad programs that are in Italy...preferably Tuscany?? I am planning on going between my junior and senior year (of high school). Actually, another question is....should I go in high school or college?? My mom said I can only do it once, so which is a better choice?? So....links/websites, etc. would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks so much!

Any other information about studying abroad would also be wonderful!! Thanks!

  1. Assuming that you plan on going to Italy partly for the experience, I would recommend the city of Florence--the birthplace of the Renaissance. One of the universities that caters to foreign students can be found here:

You can contact the Marc Westenburg, the Director of External Relations, from the website. Tell him I recommended the school, and he'll be extremely helpful; he'd also be able to direct you to other resources or answer other questions you have about schools in Tuscany. In terms of timing, I think you would likely have a better experience traveling once you're in university. At that point you have far more independence and can dictate the exact areas in which you'd like to study. Also, once you've had that experience, you'll be able to do it again on your own--without your mother deciding the issue for you. You'll be addicted to travel once you've been to Florence: it's one of the most beautiful cities I've ever had the pleasure of visiting, and I've been to quite a few around the world. Good luck!

  2. College babe and your taking me with you! Actually if you get one of the "Italian for Dummies" than it tells you a lot about the places, speech, and the culture ! i know cause I'm taking french our family is thinking about Paris!

    hope you have fun !!!
