Studying abroad in the Summer in Spain?

I'm a Junior in high school, and I really want to do like a study abroad program to Spain over the summer 08 before my senior year. I was looking into programs with amerispan [www.amerispan.com] and also with ISA [www.studiesabroad.com] but i dont know if theyre any good..?

But the ISA one doesnt offer any language classes.

I'm looking to have fun [so not a really strict program] and take some spanish classes, also if it is possible to earn like college credits, then that would be good too.

But I would be going by myself & not know anyone, so I dont want to homestay by myself or anything like that, but rather stay in like a dorm or something with a roomate whos also in the program so I can make friends and such.

So: does anyone know any good study abroad programs for high school students that have dorms and stuff?

Also, if you have any study abroad experience, please share.

  1. Academic Study Associates has a study abroad program in Barcelona that is in a dorm setting rather than a homestay situation.  Spanish classes take place in the morning at all different levels and there are cultural electives in the afternoon.  The program has a focus on learning about responsibility so there is a lot of freedom to choose what you want to do in the evening in town, etc.

I worked with their England program last summer and all the students on the program loved it!

    Good luck on your search.
