Studying abroad?

Question

My dream is to study abroad in Japan. The junior college I plan on going to does not offer study abroad programs there. Are there programs I can get hooked up to that are independent of a specific school, or will I just need to transfer to a university to go to Japan? Also, what is the general deal with studying abroad??? I know next to nothing.....

Several high school programs have what they call "13th year" or "gap" programs where you can go to Japan after you graduate high school and before you start college. I believe YFU is one of them.
