I am studying for my GED. Can anyone explain to me what superlatives are, how to recognize them in a sentence? Exp. He was sad to leave. The superlative is saddest. what are adjectives and adverbs? exp. Saddest is an adjective. Another exp. He arrived as soon as I did. The comparative sentence would be, He arrived sooner than I did. This is an adverb. I do not understand how this works or how to recognize which is what. I'm sorry if I sound confused, but I'm stumped. Please help me!
