I am aware of several places to study in Paris, but I would like to explore the rest of France. Can anyone give me information on schools outside of Paris that teach French to foreigners?

  1. Hi, how about Grenoble?? It's the only course of this type that I know of and I was hoping to go there myself but unfortunately couldn't.

Grenoble is set right next to the Alps and near the borders of Italy and Switzerland.

Here's the link for the university that does the course...

    http://w3.u-grenoble3.fr/cuef/accueil.ph...

That website has info on all the courses they offer, prices, accommodation, the student lifestyle in Grenoble.  It has pictures of the area and links to the Grenoble tourism websites.

    Good luck!!

  2. Strasbourg used to do a course many years ago and it is a beautiful city.

Just one point about Grenoble, yes it is central to one of the most beautiful parts of France but Grenoble itself is pretty grotty and industrial - that may be a problem if you don't have transport to get out and about. (We travel through it every year for the last 20+ years).

    Try this link: http://www.edufrance.fr/en/index.htm

Here is the link to the list of universities/schools that do courses in French for foreigners:

  3. CEA (Cultural Experiences Abroad) offers programs throughout France. I studied in Aix-en-Provence with them. It was great!!

  4. Here is the training centre based in Tours.

It's a famous city to learn french since:

1-This is an area known for not having any specific accent

2-You're right in the middle of the Chateaux de la Loire (amboise, chambord, azay le rideau...)

3-Very famous place for enjoying french food!
