Studying in the U.K?

Hi all,

Just wondering, Im Irish yeah

and I'd like to study in the u.k preferably near london/slouugh

are there any incentives or anything that help Irish students study in the U.k

would I have to be self financed?

  1. as far as i'm aware there a no specific incentives for irish people.  As an EU type person you will be eligible for a tuition fee loan, about £3000.

    You are also eligible for a living cost loan, again up to £3000.

    Not sure if you will pay the same tuition fees as us English or if its more, you'll have to ask the individual universities that

    there is no special grant or loan you could apply for (apart from the tuition fee loan).

    Since you are an EU student you will pay home fees, so that's a plus, but unless you can get financial aid from your government its going to be pretty hard anyway.

    I'm from abroad as well and I cant get any financial aid, I have two jobs to get all my fees covered and still it never seems to be enough!
